It’s no surprise that modern homes suffer from condensation, with cooking and tumble drying going on, wet washing on the radiators and of course, everyone breathing, all inside a big sealed box. No wonder your windows are running with water every morning.
Condensation is caused when warm moist air, such as that created by all the things mentioned above, meets the cold glass of your windows. Even if they are double or even triple glazed, these windows will still reflect the lower temperature outside. The rapid cooling of the air causes the moisture in the air to condense from vapour into liquid form – hence the name condensation.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. Dehumidifiers for the home are cheap to buy and economical to run. Home dehumidifiers keep your moisture levels low by extracting any excess water from the air and collecting it in a container for you to simply pour away. What’s more, since most home units are portable dehumidifiers, you can concentrate their effect on the area most in need, such as beside the damp washing on the maiden, or outside the kitchen when cooking. Best of all, since dry air is easier to warm than wet air, you’ll find your home is feels warmer and cosier with a dehumidifier in place.
P&M Coppack stock a wide range of home dehumidifiers, including Mitsubishi dehumidifiers, Meaco dehumidifiers and Ebac dehumidifiers, with a choice of styles and sizes available to suit most homes and small businesses. Our expert team has vast experience of air dehumidifiers and so can offer you the best advice to find the ideal system for your circumstances, at the right price for your budget.
So say goodbye to wet windows, steamed up with condensation, and say hello to the warm dry air of a dehumidified home.
Some people assume that air conditioning is something that is only used in hot countries. The Toshiba Estia from P&M Coppack is a split style air to water heat pump system that takes the place of a regular gas or electrical boiler to heat your hot water and your home. The system has three parts – an outer unit, and inner unit and a central storage tank, and each plays a role in the process.
The outer unit of the Toshiba Estia heat pump removes heat from the outside air at temperatures as low as -20°C by using speed-controlled twin-rotary compressors. This is then transferred inside to the Hydro Unit, where the heat exchanger transfers the thermal energy into the water supply, creating water temperatures as high as 55°C.
This water is then transferred to a storage tank, with a built in heating element to boost the water temperature if required, ready for use in underfloor heating, radiators, kitchen sinks, baths and showers.
The Toshiba Estia is fully controllable via a digital remote, and programmable over a weekly cycle, with a range of high tech features including frost protection and heat boost settings, plus an advanced anti bacterial mode.
As with all heat pumps, the energy used to heat the water is greatly reduced, compared to conventional heating methods, since much of the thermal energy required is drawn from the outside air, with conventional heating only used as a top up or boost to the system.
The Toshiba Estia is just one of the many heat pump and air conditioning systems available at P&M Coppack, all backed by our expert knowledge and experience. So if you want to cut down on your conventional fuel bills, either to save money or to reduce your carbon footprint, or both, ask about the Toshiba Estia air to water heat pump systems today at P&M Coppack – the air conditioning and heat pump specialists.
In the old days, our houses were naturally ventilated by the numerous draughts from ill-fitting windows and doors, as well as the air that naturally circulated down from our lofts and up through our floorboards. However, in many modern homes, such natural ventilation is a thing of the past. Double glazed windows and doors, thick carpets and underlay, cavity wall insulation and loft insulation, all combine to make our homes highly energy efficient. Unfortunately, they also make our homes sealed boxes, where the air quality quickly degenerates and condensation from breathing, washing and cooking soon builds up.
Fortunately, P&M Coppack have a dehumidifier solution that is simple and affordable, and can be installed easily in most homes for just over £200. The Drimaster 2000 from Nuaire is a compact, whole house ventilation unit that works effectively and efficiently to gradually replace the air in your home with fresh air from outside on a regular basis, making it more comfortable and significantly reducing condensation. It’s just like opening a window, but without the sudden drop in temperature and wasted heat.
The Drimaster 2000, from P&M Coppack, draws air from outside your home into your loft, where it is warmed by the loft air. This is then drawn into the unit, filtered, and pumped out into your hallway or stairwell. Here the air is heated again by the warm air that naturally accumulates at ceiling level, before dropping slowly through the atmosphere of your home, introducing clear, fresh air into the mix, and displacing the damp, stale air that has built up.
The Nuaire Drimaster 2000 home dehumidifier can make a significant contribution to the quality of your living, without making a significant impact on your pocket, because the system is available at P&M Coppack at just £213.18 plus VAT, saving £11.22 on the manufacturers list price.
Toshiba & P&M Coppack Air Conditioning are pleased to introduce the New Toshiba Daiseikai Series 6 Inverter High-Wall unit into our current range of Daisekai products.
The CD85 Dehumidifier from EIPL provides the kind of dependable, impressive performance you would expect from an industrial dehumidifier. This high capacity machine can remove up to 15 gallons a day from almost any environment to prevent condensation and avoid mold, rust and other corrosion. It is also highly effective at eliminating damp, which can be incredibly destructive if left unchecked.
The EIPL CD85 Dehumidifier is easy to use, with an extra long power cord and a 25 ft drainage hose, allowing you to position this high performance large dehumidifier virtually anywhere. What’s more, the inlet and outlet positions are completely configurable, so you can create the perfect airflow for your individual circumstances, allowing you to focus the drying on specific areas of walls or floors, or particular features of a room.

Hitachi has been at the forefront of engineering and innovation for over a century, and is currently one of the largest manufacturers of heat pumps and air conditioning systems in the world. Today they boast a dedicated European manufacturing plant, at their purpose built factory in Barcelona, producing heat pump systems for all over the continent and beyond. Hitachi systems are technically advanced and include many unique innovations. Much of this is down to the company policy of investing no less than 6% of their global sales into research and development for their products.
P&M Coppack are proud to be main dealers for Hitachi heat pumps and heat pump heating systems, including the Yutaki split type air to water heat pump, which is available in a range of power outputs, from 2.2kW to 32kW. The Yutaki system can provide heating from the ambient air at air temperatures as low as -20°C, and even with temperatures down to -5°C, the system will still be able to create water temperatures as high as 60°C to supply radiators, under floor heating or hot water tanks in your home.
The Hitachi heat pump systems come with a range of high tech functions too, including system frost protection, outdoor temperature compensators and automatic summer switch off, although they work just as efficiently in reverse to cool your home during those hot summer months.
What’s more, on top of the impressive savings you already get from heat pumps compared to fossil fuel systems, Hitachi claim that their DC Inverter driven systems save an additional 30% in energy costs compared to the fixed speed systems used by other manufacturers.
With such a heavy investment in research and development, Hitachi products are changing all the time, so contact P&M Coppack today for the latest news.
P&M Coppack are proud to be a main supplier for one of the most popular heat pump systems in Europe from NIBE. NIBE Energy Systems are a leading manufacturer of heat pumps and are market leaders in domestic heat pump heating systems and products throughout Scandinavia and the Nordic countries, as well as the Czech Republic and Poland.
While heat pump technology may be a relatively new concept here in the UK, it has been widely used in countries like Sweden for many years. This means that NIBE have all the experience and expertise you need to be sure of the most technically efficient and effective heat pump heating systems available. Indeed, NIBE claim on their website to reduce your energy consumption by up to 75% compared to conventional fossil fuel heating.
NIBE offers no less than 15 different ground source heat pumps (also known as geothermal heat pumps) – where heat is drawn from below the ground via a series of coils buried around 1m -2m deep. These ground source heat pumps range from 5kW to 40kW, and can be connected in cascade formation to provide up to 360kW.
NIBE also offer a range of air to water heat pumps, which can supply both domestic heating and hot water. NIBE air source heat pumps, such as the Fighter 2015 and the Fighter 2025, use a two stage ventilator, making them even more efficient and economical than traditional heat pumps. The NIBE F2015 is available in 6kW, 8kW and 11 kW sizes, while the F2025 is available in up to 14kW sizes. For greater power, choose the NIBE 2300, available in 14kW or 20kW outputs. NIBE also provide a range of complete ‘plug and play’ heat pump heating systems that can be easily fitted to existing homes without disruption.
Air conditioning can be used any time of year to create the perfect, ambient temperature, but it really comes into its own in the summer months. With so many offices housed in glass fronted blocks, and shops and stores forced to have large windows to display stock, these places quickly heat up in the sunshine and become greenhouse hot. The same can happen at home, as all that insulation you installed to keep you warm in the winter, starts to trap in the summer heat.
Opening a window might seem the easy answer, but it doesn’t always work. If there is high pressure and little wind, it can be just as warm outside as it is inside. What’s more, opening a window just invites insects, or worse still, burglars, into your property.
Air conditioning is a much simpler solution to cooling your home or workplace in the hot summer months. You can simply set it to the temperature you want and it will whirr away quietly to create the ideal environment for you. Air conditioning can help you work better in the daytime and sleep far better at night, because you won’t be constantly concerned about how hot it is.
Air conditioning is also remarkably affordable. Once the preserve of the very rich, air conditioning units are now well within reach of even modest homes and businesses. P M Coppack stock a wide range of air conditioning units, including Fujitsu air conditioners and Hitachi air conditioning units, with a system available to suit any home or office and any budget.
So don’t suffer and sweat this summer, talk to the air conditioning experts at P M Coppack and see how easily, and affordably, you can create an ambient atmosphere in your home or office.
We’ve all experienced the joy of air conditioning in the summer, especially on holiday in hot climates. Walking in from a burning hot day, or a sultry, sticky evening, into a cool, fresh bedroom is a real treat, and chances are we’d struggle to sleep without it. But air conditioning isn’t just for the summer; it can help you create the ideal ambient environment in your home any time of year.
What many people don’t realise is that air conditioning works within any temperature or climate, hot or cold, to create the temperature you require. So in the summer time it will cool and dry the hot humid air, and in the winter it works the opposite way and warms it up for you. Whatever temperature you set your air conditioning at is the temperature you will find your room, regardless of the weather or the temperature outside.
In winter, home air conditioning can have the added advantage of reducing condensation that can cause damp and mildew. Many people suffer condensation in conservatories, as the warm air meets the cold glass. However, with air conditioning, this is considerably reduced, because the air in the conservatory is kept warm and dry.
P M Coppack stock and install a huge range of affordable, reliable air conditioner systems for the home, including Delonghi air conditioners and Airedale air conditioning units. Our expert team will help you choose the best air conditioners for you and advise you on the size and power of unit you will require to provide heating or cooling for your home.
So don’t just enjoy the benefits of air conditioning in your holiday hotel, enjoy comfortable, ambient temperatures all year round at home too with home air conditioning units from PM Coppack, the domestic and commercial air conditioning experts.
